I grew up on home-cooked Macanese, Portuguese, Brazilian, and Chinese dishes. Eating out was a burst of colour and tastes, and some of my earliest memories include the regular shop at bustling East Asian street markets. From traditional Macanese Minchee, to Brazilian Feijoada, to my first taste of raw sugar cane, I fast developed a love of varied spices, delicious gradients of flavours, and dining out. Below, I share my thoughts on food and the eateries I stumble across.
